CBSM Mission to Mexico 2002
Day Ten: July 10th, 2002
Day
Ten: He is An Awesome God!
Up
at 4:30... Breakfast, load the pickup trucks and off to the work sites. The house illuminated with the headlights from the van, and then it was dedicated to Jesus Christ in both English and Spanish prayers, and the gifts were given. The family was, to put it plainly, stunned and overwhelmed. The father was shaking with emotion as he affixed the Casas Por Christo plate to the front of what was now his family's home. Our God is an Awesome God, and we all felt His presence!. Final handshakes and hugs were given, and we went off back across the desert to the light of Juarez, leaving a family with a practical example of God's love and real hope about tomorrow. It was a day that the members of Team One will not soon forget. Team Two started the day the same way. The roof and chicken wire were finished, and the stucco was started. They were on the second load of stucco when the cement mixer broke down for the final time and the rest of the stucco had to be mixed by hand. They worked until dark getting everything done except for the drywall and dedication. T1 members will go out in the am tomorrow with T2 to help them catch up the time lost from the equipment problems. Despite the setbacks, T2's spirit and drive to get things done is an great testimony to the character of T2's members. Please continue to pray and send e-mail to all of us! |
