Saturday morning we got to sleep in for a little longer which was pretty sweet yo..everyone needed that extra little sleep.i know for me it was a little tough though cause i knew it was our last vbs day and it also was at a different place where we normally did vbs. so seeing different and new faces of kids was exciting but also was sad cause i was sad that i couldnt see the other kids that impacted my life. getting onto the bus to leave for chilca was pretty depressing. first off people were feeling really sick and were not digging the hour drive and nasty bathrooms that have become our best friends over the trip.

During the trip up to chilca we all played catch phrase which i was thinking about going pro with it. it was a long trip with everyone loud and people feeling sick so it was a pretty fun ride. Since i went last year to the same place i remember going up to chilca how it was gonna be sad cause its such an empty ghost town. but even though it seemed so empty, there was a lot of kids that ran up to welcome us. after we all settled in we got to go play with the kids to try to draw more kids and people and had around 70 kids there which was a pretty good number cause from the look of the town you would only think that we would have 10 kids there. everything went well with the vbs and the skits we did so it all turned out to be a good time.

After the vbs we went to mc donalds which i cant even tell you.cause i would have to kill you if i told you. it was just that good. then we came back and had our team time which it seemed like everyone was really into it very much so this day i dono what it was maybe the sweet and amazing taste of grease and fries and nice juicy hamburger and soda with no ice going into our bodies..yaaa thats probably it .well thats how our saturday went

Its Saturday and I cant believe it.  The time has gone so quick.
We drove about an hour from here to a small...did I say SMALL...town that the church here also works with.   The kids who called it a ghost town (from last year) were right.  We held a small VBS for about 70 kids with many onlookers and the did 3 dramas and our dance.  I thought there were alot of dogs in Lima but this place I think had more dogs than people.  One dog even went and found a rock and would drop it at your feet to throw (1st playful dog all week) (okay so my animal lover side is coming out!)
For the most part the kids have been great (making this an easier job.)  I was willing to even take13 of  them across the street to the local gas station for soda by myself.
As we come to the close of our 10 days in Peru my prayer is that our kids have discovered a little more about themselves and their relationship with Christ.  They see first hand how blessed we are to live where we do yet the Peruvians are not envious or jealous of what we have.  They just see us bringing joy and love to the kids......not what stuff do we havefor them.  At VBS after they do their craft the children want to give it back to our kids to keep.  They are very giving.  Hopefully our kids can pick up on some of the selflessness and bring it home.
We will see all of you on the 30th!
