Today was a pretty exciting day.  We got up in the morning and did the normal breakfast thing and then we went to the church to help out.  We moved the benches and rearranged them in order to get ready to give out the clothes that we collected back home.  We then went to lunch and did our last day of VBS.  It went very well and all the kids enjoyed it.  After we were done we got the kids in lines based on age and brought them to the church to hand out the clothes.  We ended up have some left over clothes after we gave everyone 4 items so we are going to take them with us.  It is sad to think that tonight is our last night in Lircay.  I think that everyone will really miss it here....even if we aren´t in very extravagant settings.   Tomorrow we have a very long day so please pray that no one gets sick going down the mountain!!

Greetings once again from Lircay!  It has been an awesome week here in the mountains...lots of sunshine and warmth during the day, although today was a bit cooler but still enjoyable.  The town is preparing for their Independence Day celebration and had a parade in the town today.  We continued working at the church this morning with finishing up painting the pews (i.e. benches) and repairing a blackboard.  We also worked on getting set up for the clothes give away.  We had spent the past couple of mornings sorting (yet again!!) the many clothes we collected.  Unfortunately, we weren´t able to bring everything down with us but our total count of clothing items that we did bring was over 1400!!  Amazing!  This afternoon my group which included Allison Glensor and Scott Wilson put on the VBS.  We told the story of the Lost Sheep and emphasized God´s love for all the 265 children that were present.  Scott did a great job in the pantomine courteous of Rueben Smith...thanks Rueben!!   A special thanks to Kaitlin Dorr for the use of her stuffed sheep (we are still looking for a special little girl or boy to give it to!!) In an organized but yet mass chaotic fashion after VBS, we gave away clothes to over 300 folks!  Again, it was amazing!  One gentleman in an trench coat was modeling his new digs and walking so proudly as if he were the mayor.  We gave clothes away as best we could to fit their size and gender but they were just as happy and content to trade amongst one another afterwards.  So tomorrow, we get on the bus and head to Huancaveleca...we are all so excited about taking showers for the first time since Sunday...I think we´re all about done with the wet wipes and non-rinse soap stuff and washing the hair with cold water in the sink!!  Please be praying for safety and no motion sickness!

Hasta Luego!!
