Sunday morning we went to a church service- the same church we have been helping the whole time here in Lircay. We participated some, doing a drama and songs and testimonies. Near the end of the service, we got the privelege to pray with the men and women seated around us. Even though we were praying in english, they were grateful and very appreciative. At the beginning of the service there were very few people in the church, but by the end, the whole room was filled with people.

In Lircay, every Sunday is market day, where each family sets up on the side of the street and sells various items. After lunch, we walked around the market and handed out fliers inviting children, as well as their parents, to a service we would be doing in the park. We ran out of fliers almost instantly, as many people were curious and excited for what we were doing.

During our service, we did dramas, songs, and testimonies in the middle of the street. Fletcher spoke the gospel to the crowd and invited anyone to come forward if they were moved to give their life to Christ. Some of us were surprised when only one woman and two children walked up. However, we soon realized that the number of people wasn't what was important. It was just as special that one or two people accepted Jesus. We played with the kids and spent time with the people, loving them as much as we could. By the end of the service, there were about 250 men, women, and children watching what we were doing. It was incredible to see God use us, even if we were out of our comfort zones.

What a weekend, i must say-our bodies have been maxed out-new food, high, altitude, on the go, go, go, and just plain pooped. Saturday night was a rough night for 8 of us. But let me reassure you everyone is coming along great-the infirmaties have not lasted too long. To watch the kids pray and care for each other is wonderful to witness (for more details of saturday night, you{ll have to ask mathew- he will have firlst had info :) N0w on to our days:

Saturday morning we held a VBS in the town square. 100 hundred children showed up and thier attention was great. Once again watching the team interact with the kids, and using their gifts God has given them.
During the entire day, Sherri and other held an eye clinic-see this coming tuesdays blog by sherri.
A crew went after VBs to begin construstion at the chruch we met at. The bricks and other supplies that we had already paid for didnt show up but the crew had a great time sharing Gods love with those that came by (the bricks did show up eventually- at dinner time and many of the team helped unload the bricks that night) Another crew went to a playground to just play and interact with kids. We started with 2 and 2and a half hours later with about 40. those of us on the playground relized how strong the sun was by our evident red faces by dinner.

Sunday:
Praise God we started our day with a breakfast later then usual and then went to a 10 am chruch sevice. The service started with about 5 people but after the team sang "Blessed be the name", people began to come in off the street. Soon all the pews were filled that the team had to stand in the back and there were still people in the door way. God was working on hearts and seeds were being planted.
After lunch we walked through that were FILLED with little markets. We handed out 500 hundred flyers, in about 10 minutes inviting people to our open air serivce that evening. Some gift buying was done too. We were totally grossed out by the live frogs being blended up in a blender with spices and drunk by people who passed by (apparently thought to be medicinal- GAG!!!) Our evening brought kids feeling better and a nice turn out to our service. 3 testimonies were shared and a couple of dramas. Fletcher presented the need for Christ in their life and Santos gave an alter call. We had some come and accept Christ as their Savior. We know that the angels were dancing.
Our day ended with a full team worshiping together ( only 3 still in bed but feeling much better) Please continue to pray for the wear on our bodies adn that we will be used to Gods fullest extent for us dispite Satans attack on us. Because God is good, ALL the time.
Thanks for the prayers- we love you all!!
