Peru Team Day #7

Friday, August 1st, 2014

So today was pretty awesome! We started out by visiting paz y esperanza (peace and hope) an organization focused on finding justice for people here in Peru. We went to a ceremony in memorial of over 17,000 people who were killed in acts of terrorism 30 years ago today. The memorial had a stone with the name of each victim on it. When we retuned to the seminary we had an amazing lunch with WATERMELLON then went to Perales for our final day of vbs. Our group’s story was David and Goliath. We had a great skit, and gave the children pop rocks as a snack. For our craft we made hacky sacks out of rice and balloons. The children decorated the hacky sacks and then used them in our game where they threw them at giant cardboard Goliaths. It was a great fun filled day. Once the kids left we spent some fellowship time with the Perales leadership team. We then returned to the seminary for a great Americano dinner of hot dogs and French fries. We then had team time with some throwback worship songs and a special song just for Mary Beth. Later on me, Kenny, and some other awesome people enjoyed a late night snack of kraft boxed macaroni and cheese. All in all it was an amazing day. Peru is so wonderful and I am very much so enjoying the time here!
