Romans 8
We went to church in the morning and Michael Schoe
len and Ashley Wilson gave their testimonies. Mathew was prepared to preach if they asked him to, which they did. It was an awesome church service. We sang in spanish and their pastor also spoke. I thought it was cool how we stood up everytime we prayed. It was about 2 pm when church was over. We went to lunch and then we all went to a park to play with the kids and to do some dances and dramas. We had a lot of different activites going on like soccer, football, volleyball, frisbee, and jump rope. We had free time after that and everyone went separate ways. A lot of the team went to buy things from the local markets. We went to dinner and then it was off to youth group. Mathew was asked to preach again and we had an awesome time listening to the band and singing along. We had our devotional afterwards run by Courtney Schrock, Bryan Johnson, and Eden Johnson.

Hi! its marybeth! i can officially say that i have prayed on top of the andes mountains with the locals! how cool is that? our team is doing awesome... everyone is getting along and 'flexing and flowing' with the huancavalician way. :)

i have to say something about the locals here.... the older women look like they could leap off the pages of national geographic.... the colors, the wrinkled, tanned faces, the long braided hair. It's amazing! Most of them have babies strapped to their backs in brightly colored blankets. They wear skirts that are multi layered and legwarmers and hats. I just spend most of the day staring at them.

got to go! the team is ready to run around the andes mountains! well, maybe not run.... we get winded easy in this altitude. :)

keep praying for us...it means a lot!

love to all back home!!
